Project Manager (Location: Chengdu)

Reports to: Regional Director
Responsible for: N/A
 
Job Purpose:
Ensure that Messer China projects in the West Region are managed and completed as scheduled, meet budget and in required quality.
 
Responsibilities:
· Conduct project organization, scheduling, implementation and coordination;
· Participate in the establishment of the Messer China engineering system;
· Conduct new project estimate and planning;
· Assist in negotiations with customers and subsuppliers;
· Assist in obtaining approvals from authorities for projects;
· Assist in acquisition of sub-contractors;
· Check accordance of project decision to Chinese laws and regulations;
· Coordinate between, subsuppliers, customers and the engineering division;
· Assist in controlling and approving subsuppliers' documents;
· Assist in handling documentation from subsuppliers;
· Record and report project progress to the Project Director;
· Assist in testing, starting up and commissioning of equipment;
· Provide technical support to business developers in getting new projects;
· Involve in safety management of the plants.
 
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in chemical process/mechanical/instrument /electrical engineering;
· Industrial gas knowledge is a strong plus;
· Proficient in English;
· Working knowledge of MSOffice and Project;
· 3 to 5 years of engineering experience in the field of operation with foreign funded companies or ASU process design;
· 1 year experience as plant or operation manager is a plus.
